BEN LUC – LONG THANH EXPRESSWAY FULLY OPENS: A NEW CONNECTIVITY CORRIDOR FOR SOUTHERN VIETNAM’S INDUSTRIAL NETWORK

The full opening of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway on October 1, 2026 marks an important addition to Southern Vietnam’s transport network, providing a more direct route between western Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeastern region. For IDICO Huu Thanh and IDICO Tan Phuoc 1 Industrial Parks (IPs), the new connection further strengthens access to key markets, logistics hubs and supply chains across the region.

A NEW EAST–WEST CORRIDOR FOR SOUTHERN VIETNAM’S LOGISTICS NETWORK

After 12 years of development, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway officially opened to traffic along its entire route on October 1, 2026. Stretching nearly 58 km, the expressway begins at the My Yen Interchange, which links with the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway and Ring Road No. 3, before extending through southern Ho Chi Minh City toward Dong Nai and National Highway 51.

With the entire route now operational, vehicles traveling from the Mekong Delta can reach Dong Nai and other Southeastern provinces without having to rely as heavily on routes through Ho Chi Minh City’s urban areas. According to transport authorities, the expressway can cut travel time by more than one hour on certain journeys between the Mekong Delta and Dong Nai, while providing an additional route for freight moving toward Long Thanh International Airport and major seaports in the eastern region.

The significance of the new route extends beyond passenger travel. By linking the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway, Ring Road No. 3 and transport routes leading to Long Thanh International Airport, National Highway 51 and major seaports, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway gives businesses another option for moving goods across the region. This can help reduce reliance on urban routes and improve overall transportation efficiency.

The demand for the new corridor was evident from the outset. Nearly 25,000 vehicle trips were recorded during the first 24 hours of full operation, around 30% higher than before the two ends of the expressway were fully connected.

IDICO HUU THANH: STRENGTHENING ACCESS TO SOUTHEASTERN VIETNAM

Located in Duc Hoa Commune, Tay Ninh Province, IDICO Huu Thanh IP is well positioned to benefit from the full opening of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway.

Approximately 35 km from central Ho Chi Minh City, IDICO Huu Thanh IP is already connected to the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway, Ring Road No. 3 and major seaport networks. The opening of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway adds another route toward Southeastern Vietnam, giving businesses greater flexibility in moving goods without relying on routes through central Ho Chi Minh City.

The My Yen Interchange, where the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway begins, also connects with the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway and Ring Road No. 3. This makes it an important link between the transport network serving western Ho Chi Minh City and the wider Southeastern corridor.

For manufacturers and logistics operators already located at IDICO Huu Thanh, as well as prospective investors, improved access to this network is particularly relevant to industries that depend on the regular movement of raw materials and finished goods and need efficient access to markets across Southern Vietnam.

With projects in textiles and footwear, logistics, warehousing and supporting industries being developed at the IP, improved access to logistics hubs and seaports can further support the efficiency and flexibility of companies’ supply chains.

IDICO TAN PHUOC 1: CONNECTING THE MEKONG DELTA WITH THE SOUTHEASTERN LOGISTICS CORRIDOR

For IDICO Tan Phuoc 1 IP, the benefit lies in a broader regional network, linking the Mekong Delta’s production base and consumer markets with Ho Chi Minh City, Long Thanh International Airport and the major seaports of Southeastern Vietnam.

Covering 470 hectares, IDICO Tan Phuoc 1 is located in Dong Thap Province and is positioned as an integrated production and consumption ecosystem at the gateway to the Mekong Delta. The IP is approximately 3 km from an interchange connected to the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong – My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway, providing convenient access to Ho Chi Minh City and major economic centers across the region.

Through the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong corridor and the My Yen Interchange, IDICO Tan Phuoc 1 can access the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway, extending freight routes toward Southeastern Vietnam, Long Thanh International Airport and the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port complex. This provides an important logistics advantage for manufacturers serving export markets or looking to build more flexible, multimodal supply chains.

Together, the two expressways give IDICO Tan Phuoc 1 access to a wider network in both directions: westward toward Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta via the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong – My Thuan – Can Tho corridor, and eastward toward Dong Nai, Long Thanh International Airport and Southeastern Vietnam’s seaport system via the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway.

The advantage is further supported by the planned inland waterway port within the IP. By combining road and inland waterway transport, businesses can diversify their transportation options and optimize their logistics operations.

For IDICO Huu Thanh and IDICO Tan Phuoc 1, the full opening of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway is more than an addition to the regional road network. It strengthens access to key production centers, markets, logistics hubs and seaports across Southern Vietnam, further supporting IDICO’s development of industrial parks that are efficiently integrated into domestic and international supply chains.
