Today, at IDICO Phu My II Industrial Park (IP), IDICO, in collaboration with the Management Board of Industrial Parks in Ba Ria—Vung Tau Province (BIZA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a workshop to kick off a project to develop a smart industrial park model with an ecological orientation. This marks a significant milestone in IDICO's journey to realize its vision of sustainable, modern, and environmentally friendly industrial park development.
The event was attended by Mr. Vo Thanh Phong, Head of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Industrial Zones Authority (BIZA), Mr. Phan Van Chinh, Deputy General Director of IDICO, JICA experts, and representatives from more than 20 enterprises currently operating at IDICO Phu My II and the expanded IDICO Phu My II industrial zones.
To kick off the program, Mr. Vo Thanh Phong and Mr. Phan Van Chinh shared their thoughts with the investor representatives. Both emphasized the importance of transforming industrial zones towards a smart and ecological orientation, believing that this transformation will help the industrial sector of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and Vietnam as a whole, grow stronger and deliver outstanding value to investors. Additionally, they expressed their gratitude to the JICA expert team for their dedicated support in implementing the project.
With 25 years of establishment and growth, IDICO has been the pioneer in developing industrial real estate in Vietnam. Up to now, IDICO operates and manages 12 industrial parks across Vietnam, spanning nearly 4,000 hectares. These parks have attracted more than 400 investors, including prominent corporations such as Suntory PepsiCo, Fujiya, and Hyosung, meeting domestic and international businesses' diverse and increasingly stringent demands.
In the context of global trends where major investors prioritize environmental sustainability, IDICO has been at the forefront of transitioning its industrial park model toward green and sustainable development. The Phu My II and Phu My II Exp IP are expected to serve as exemplary models of smart industrial parks with an ecological orientation in Vietnam.
The project, implemented with technical support from JICA, aims to develop smart management and operational solutions to optimize energy usage and maximize reductions in environmentally harmful emissions. This represents a key step in enhancing sustainability values while catalyzing and attracting high-quality FDI inflows, thereby contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.
IDICO Phu My II and Phu My II Exp IP boast a strategic location in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, near the Thi Vai – Cai Mep deep-water port cluster, offering substantial advantages in connectivity and logistics. Developing these parks as smart, eco-oriented industrial zones will not only help businesses here meet stringent export standards but also create a sustainable production ecosystem, contributing to emission reduction goals and the province's and nation's Net Zero targets.
IDICO is committed to continuously innovating and enhancing the quality of its industrial parks while investing in synchronized and modern infrastructure that meets international standards. With the support of investors, partners, and international organizations such as JICA, IDICO is striving to become a creator of a comprehensive industrial park ecosystem that is environmentally friendly and offers long-term benefits for investors. This initiative marks a new and promising chapter in IDICO’s journey to build green, smart, and sustainable industrial parks.
